We have been able to support incredible individuals, foundations, and schools in our plight to raise awareness and funds to promote mental wellness and suicide prevention. Michigan State Athletics Recognizes The Gregory H. Montgomery Jr. Foundation for Ultimate Growth

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Both Michigan State and Minnesota wore Greg’s logo to raise awareness for suicide prevention when they faced each other in Spartan Stadium. The foundation has a fund in Greg’s name @ Michigan State for mental health resources for student athletes. They also kicked off Flex & Flow an annual community event to help stop stigma, and share mindful movement practices.

The Gregory H. Montgomery Jr. Student Athlete Mental-Wellness Fund started by our foundation provides mental health resources for student athletes. Currently we have worked with two fantastic partners: Michigan State University and Red Bank Regional High School in Little Silver, NJ. For our work, The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey saluted the Gregory H. Montgomery Jr. Foundation with an official Resolution as highly esteemed throughout the Garden State, for our diligent efforts advocating for mental wellness and suicide prevention in New Jersey communities and beyond.

Shore House is a registered nonprofit organization that provides community-based recovery services for adults with persistent mental illnesses. Members work with each other and with staff in all aspects of the running of the Clubhouse. Shore House’s success is dependent upon the contributions and efforts of each and every member. We are the first and only accredited Clubhouse in New Jersey.

David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health

Based in Southwest Florida, David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) is a not-for-profit, leading provider of compassionate, advanced, and exceptional mental health, substance use, and integrated healthcare solutions, available for children, adolescents and adults. DLC’s innovative treatment includes inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services.

Our foundation provided a grant specifically for funding Mental Health First Aid Training through DLC for community leaders, teachers and families to be equipped with the proper knowledge of how to handle crisis in the community, schools and at home.

Wounded Warrior Project

The WWP mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors who incurred a physical or mental injury, illnesses, or wound, co-incident to your military service on or after September 11, 2001. You may also be eligible for the program if you are the family member or caregiver of a Wounded Warrior.

The Ranch - Teammates for Life

The Ranch is a nonprofit organization aimed at providing a healthy and purposeful life for those who have suffered trauma in their lives – former athletes, military veterans, and first responders as well as their families. They aim to provide a healthy, therapeutic, and supportive environment for those affected by mental illness and brain disorders with an opportunity to live full, independent lives. To raise awareness on this important issue and remove the stigma of mental illness, and provide diverse services that include all forms of humanitarian efforts aimed at fighting brain disease.

Collier Coalition for Healthy Minds

Collier Coalition for Healthy Minds includes healthcare, social service, legal and justice system professionals and advocates charged with mobilizing Collier County’s first-ever, five-year mental health and addiction services strategic plan. Healthy Minds is a community response to address the growing mental health and addiction crisis compounded by the coronavirus pandemic, opioid epidemic and suicide crisis.

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a United States-based suicide prevention network of over 160 crisis centers that provides 24/7 service via a toll-free hotline with the number 1-800-273-8255. It is available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress.

PRO ATHLETES IN RECOVERY (PRO AIR)

PRO ATHLETES IN RECOVERY (PRO AIR) is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2013 by NFL veteran Randy Grimes and his wife, Lydia that provides people with the necessary tools to overcome addiction and navigate the process of recovery in order to live healthy and productive lives, while also supporting family members, providing resources, sharing best practices, and working within our communities to remove the stigma surrounding addiction.

the leading national nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy.

A Calming Room

Our foundation funded The Gregory H. Montgomery Jr. Calming Room at Corkscrew Middle School in Naples, Florida.

This calming room is for the students to learn calming and coping strategies. This is a space for students to help reduce stimuli when they are feeling overly stressed. With appropriate support and supervision, this space will help students cope with their emotional needs.

One Last Goal

a nonprofit fund dedicated to providing resources at the intersection of contact sports and mental health.

Amen Clinics

we were fortunate enough to fund an individual’s treatment at Amen Clinics, which applies brain imaging science to help people that struggle with emotional, behavioral, cognitive and learning challenges.

Ridge Road Run

an annual event and 5k run that raises funds and awareness for mental health programming for schools.

GI Go Fund

provides assistance to all military veterans, with a focus on veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, by helping them find employment, access housing, and secure their education and health benefits.

in-development, a state of the art, safe phone application that will give youth anywhere access to a personal mentor that will help them succeed in life, by providing mental-emotional health support.

Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation

Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation brings Warriors to their ranch in southwestern Montana, providing a safe, secure environment – created by volunteers, guides, and other veterans – that feels like home. Here, Warriors find space to make meaning of their service and discover what a purposeful life means to them.
